How it works
Sepmax DS Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. These antibiotics work by preventing the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sepmax DS Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. Take it with food, if it causes stomach upset.
Interactions / Warnings
Alcohol CAUTION It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Sepmax DS Tablet. Taking trimethoprim with alcohol may cause unpleasant side effects such as tingly feeling, nausea, and vomiting, fast heartbeats, warmth or redness under your skin, . Pregnancy WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS Sepmax DS Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor. Lactation SAFE Sepmax DS Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby. There may be a possibility of skin rash in the baby. Driving It is not known whether Sepmax DS Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Kidney CAUTION Sepmax DS Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Sepmax DS Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Sepmax DS Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Liver CAUTION Sepmax DS Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Sepmax DS Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Sepmax DS Tablet is not recommended in patients with the severe liver disease.
