D Cold Total Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Paracetamol, Caffeine and Phenylephrine, which relieves common cold symptoms. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever and pain. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of paracetamol. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. D Cold Total Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. Avoid D Cold Total Tablet with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.
Interactions / Warnings
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with D Cold Total Tablet.D Cold Total Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.D Cold Total Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.D Cold Total Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.D Cold Total Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of D Cold Total Tablet may be needed.
