How it works | Budetrol 400 Inhaler is a combination of two medicines: Formoterol and Budesonide. Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator which works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens the airways. Budesonide is a steroid. It works by stopping the release of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) of the airways. Together, they make breathing easier. |
How to use | Check the label for directions before use. Shake the inhaler. While you are breathing in from mouth, press down on the inhaler one time to release the medication and hold your breath for 10 seconds. Repeat until you have inhaled the number of puffs as suggested by the doctor.Afterwards, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and spit it out. |
Interactions / Warnings | Cardiovascular: Use with caution in patients with hypertension, Endocrine and Metabolic: Growth velocity reduction may occur in pediatric patients, dose adjustment and monitoring recommended when using nasal and oral inhalation. Gastrointestinal: Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer, Hepatic: Increased risk of hypercorticism in severe hepatic impairment, Immunologic: Immunosuppression may result in more susceptibility to serious infections and potentially fatal communicable diseases such as chickenpox and measles; avoid exposure, Infection: Untreated infections such as systemic bacterial, fungal, viral, or parasitic infections or ocular herpes simplex may worsen so use with caution or avoid use, Infection: Candida albicans infection of the mouth and pharynx may occur with oral inhalation and in the nose and pharynx with nasal administration. Musculoskeletal: Use with caution in patients with osteoporosis. Tuberculosis: Use with caution. |
